In preparing my YW lesson for this week I came across some great quotes. It's been a blessing for me to teach these young women and after not being able to teach for about a month now with conference and all I am really looking forward to teaching my girls about Self-Mastery and Optimism.
The first quote is given by President Spencer W. Kimball
"The height of a man's success is gauged by his self-mastery; the depth of his failure by his self-abandonment...He who cannot establish a dominion over himself will have no dominion over others. He who masters himself shall be king"
Marvin J. Ashton said:
"We must be more concerned with what we do with what happens to us than what happens to us."
Learn to be Optimistic
1. Count your blessing
2. Learn the power of laughter (this one might be my favorite!)
3. Enjoy beautiful music and literature, they can lift your spirits
4. Look for beauty everywhere you go, in nature, in art, in the faces of loved ones
5. Strive to improve yourself each day
6. Look for the GOOD in everything
