A night of entertainment!

Last night Mike and I used the tickets he got me for the joyous concert of 2 of my new favorite artists right now; Joshua Radin and Ingrid Michaelson. Both play acoustic fulk type music. I have some of their songs on my playlist if you care to take a listen!
We left a bit early....we are not the night owls we used to be and it was a work night, but we saw all of Ingrid's set and a good portion of Joshua's, both were very pleasing to the ears!!!
Thanks Mikey for taking me! I love that we share common interest in music, and I'm proud to say that I introduced both of these great musicians to Mike....well their music anyway :)

Take 2 of these and call me in the mornin'...

Well I'm a little slow at the update of taking the lime light from Mike. That is because I DIDN'T GET TO!!!! It was quite the show at Dr. Martin's office Monday afternoon, though, just to be told that I shouldn't do anything with my cyst, aka Carl, at this point other than give it a name and show it off at parties...way ahead of you doc!!! Then Tuesday at the eye doc, wait...back up, for those that didn't know, ever since I got the black eye I was seeing random flashes, it's like I'm in my own strobe light show....anyhow, the doc couldn't see anything so he wants to see me back in 2 weeks to double check but it appears that everything will heal just fine. Whatever you say doc!

And thank you to Emily Allen for advising me to get into the eye doc ASAP! Silly me thought the flashes were just so exciting.....(see post below! ha-ha)

Nerds and Geeks

As many of you know I opted to not attend college, rather I chose to further my education at Equity Title in hopes to become SMRT! I'm not one of those cool kids with my own lap top...right now I'm using mommy and daddy's office computer. One day it would be fun to have my own lap top to fit in. Until that day comes though it is imperative that I hang out with the nerds that have them so that I may learn their nerd skills and one day be geeks like them! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Not to be outdone!

So yesterday at work Mike got himself an ouchy...an ouchy big enough for 7 stitches! I like to tease him saying that he had to out-do my black eye from last weekend!! Well don't worry, I'll take that lime light away once again as my wrist gets cut open
on Monday to have that darn "Carl" removed...yes...
Carl the ganglion cyst has been making a come back and causing lots of pain so it's time to go under the knife.

But for now.....Mike can shine in the spot light with his red bandaged pointer finger!!

A new Favorite

So I know I know the post below is longer than a years calendar but deal with it!
Mike and I took this picture of us over the weekend and gosh darn it I think it's quite cute!

So Much....

Well so much has happened over the past week this might get lengthy!
First off HAPPY VALENTINES!!! When I got to work on Valentine's morning a monkey had taken my seat, he is now known as DWILL because he was wearing a pink Jazz jersey with D-Williams #8!

He was so cute I couldn't help but have a little fun!
Inside the heart box were not what you think....NO CHOCOLATES!!! Instead there were tickets to see Joshua Radin, a current favorite of mine! I'm so excited! Both Mike and I really enjoy his music and he's playing with Ingrid Michaelson who is also very good, which Mike will soon find out :) I gave Mike a book by Glenn Beck "An Inconvenient Book", which he read parts to me while we drove down to Cedar City/St. George this past Presidents Day weekend....this carries me to the next "So Much..."

This past weekend we took a lovely road trip to St. George, though we stayed at Aunt Barb's and Uncle Jeff's in Cedar (it was free!) Mike and I were joined by his brother Jeph and his wife Venita and my buddy Marianna and her hubby Trevor.

While we were in St. George I had the fun pleasure of seeing family and meeting the cutest new addition Tessa Marchant

(isn't she a doll!?!)

I got to do Audrey's hair for church! She was a princess....

And Mike had a chat with Quinn....

Later Saturday we all went to play in the park by the St. George Temple. In the next few pictures I am only in the picture sitting on the ground because it was only a short time of being there that I got in a fight myself and won....I have a small black eye to prove it!!! though I never did get a picture of it, you can maybe see it in a few pictures with me and Mike!

just before the accident

About an hour after when I could open my eye!

Flies UP!

Well with all of the hard play Mike happened to throw out his back a bit...so while at Wal-Mart he grabbed a scoot-ma-toot....I had been his crutch and I thought a scoot ride would be more enjoyable....for all!!

It was such a fun time!! Me with my black eye, Mike looking like an old man we were peas in a pod this weekend!!! I don't think there is anyway either of us could forget this weekend! Thanks to all! We truly had a great time with our friends and vising the Marchant Madness gang!

And there you have it folks, a weeks worth of fun....of course I spared some of the details...but you heard the juicy stuff :)

Book worms welcome!

So I'm trying to be better about reading. I enjoy a good book I just don't usually take the time to find one is the problem. Last summer I read the first book Twilight of the Twilight series and enjoyed that and need to read the next ones, which I will. This past week, though, I bought a new book that a friend at work told me about, it's called Escape. It is written by Carolyn Jessop who escaped from the FLDS community! While this book is very interesting and I have a hard time putting it down, it somewhat makes me angry....actually no, it flat out makes me angry! I know it will have a happy ending, after all she escapes right!? Well the book is about her life and wow is it depressing to read because of so much abuse and cruelty. I will say this, it certainly makes me VERY thankful to know what being loved really feels like. I will finish this book, I need to see the happily ever after!

I have decided to put the book aside until after the weekend! So I bought me a new book today to read on my little weekend road trip that mostly made me laugh just by the title, My French Whore by Gene Wilder! My friends and I had a good laugh at lunch picking it out! But I am very open to suggestions! The Twilight series will be my little adventure books, I need some suggestions that will make me laugh, but a good mystery is alway fun too!
So please....do share!

The Best Of Both Worlds...

Yes, it's true...it's possible that you actually sang rather than read my Title for this post! Well if you did, then kudos, after all That's what Hannah Montana sings about!
A few weeks while out to the movies with Mike I said the advertisement for the Hannah Montana 3-D movie of her Best of Both Worlds Tour, and thought "I need to take Mae to see that!" (for those of you who don't know my family Mae is my 6 year old niece! Well Saturday was the day!
We got our pop corn and drinks and our 3-D glasses and away we went! Kristin, Mae's mom, decided to join us as well. Now I don't know about you but I had this image in my head of an auditorium full of young girls just screaming at the movie screen as though they were really at the show, I'm here to tell you that's so not what happened!!! I kept telling Mae to sing and she didn't want to. What was wrong with these kids, isn't this the best thing next to actually being there!?
Well I guess not, but I was glad to find out afterwards that Kristin had the same thoughts I did.
Perhaps the young girls were so used to being told to sit down and be quiet while at the movies. And perhaps the mom's, or aunts in this case, were secretly hoping everyone would be singing so they could to! It's true, I'm admitting today, I'm a closet, well not so much anymore, fan of Miley Cyrus, better known as Hannah Montana! Thanks to the little tykes that run around my house! (yes I am fully blaming them!)
