Special Christmas Date!

Many of you might know that I had a special date on Friday night, as I had mentioned in my birthday blog that I had a planned date for December 21st! Mike took me to the Peter Breinholt concert, where David Tolk joined him. It was a pretty awesome night! We first ate dinner at the Olive Garden (our waiter was super fast and nice) We then walked down to the theater (I'm blanking on the name!) Mike tried to trick me telling me we had horrible seats up top, but I soon found out we were on the ground level just a few rows back! It was perfect!

After the concert we walked out and there were 2 Santa Claus' walking down the street, so I automatically yell "SANTA" (think Elf!)
afterwhich I was told I was naughty! LOL We were both in great moods, Mike made me laugh all night!! He then surprised me and took me to Christmas Street (where his grandma lives) to see the lights. It was a very fun memorable Christmas date!

Something to be Thankful for...

This Thanksgiving was a little different for me, and different was memorable and awesome!
My parents went to Beaver to help my grandma get all of her Christmas decor out. I stayed in West Jordan and spent the holiday with Mike and his family.

We enjoyed a BIG family dinner up at Jeremy Ranch with some of Mike's aunts, uncles and cousins, Wednesday night. Lynn, Mike's mom, got very excited when I told her I had Polar Express for our sleepover! It was pretty funny!
Thursday was our lounge day....it was heaven! But we did make it out to see Enchanted
We had a good laugh, it's quite a fun movie for the family :)
The best part were the little girls in the audience yelling "KISS HIM!!"
ha-ha
And let's not forget that nothing tops going to Denny's for Thanksgiving!!
Ok ok...Friday was our main feast (YUM!)
Lynn set up a beautiful table and left cards for all of us, it was very sweet.

When it was time to clean up Mike decided to share with us all a little song about Captain Planet.....his awesome singing skills carried the night away as we hooked up the karaoke machine for some fun!!
(sadly enough my camera's battery had died at this point)

Here is Mike with his dishes washing tune!

Older and Wiser part 2

Well I'm finally able to take some time to catch the blog up!
My birthday weekend was awesome! The kids, Jackson and Mae slept over and we had pizza and cheesecake! They both made me their own cards, so sweet! Mom got her eyes all fixed up so she can now see us all, so she was down for the night drugged up!! Mom's funny on drugs!
Sunday was Mike's family's turn and we had a nice dinner and cake! I had to sit on the birthday chair (I made Mike sit by me!) and we played Loaded Questions!

Here is video of The Simmons family singing Happy Birthday to me! Jeph has such a lovely voice, we're glad he joined the ward choir!!

Thanks to everyone for making this year the very best!

One year older and wiser too? Part 1

Today was pretty much the raddest day of my life! At 7:30 I found silly wrapped gifts placed upon my car by some silly guy Mike! Each had a cute fun note and they were a great start to my 27th birthday. I got to work and was shocked by the amazing decorators that took over my desk the night before! Then Mike thought the morning presents weren't enough so he showed up at my work with flowers and a couple more gifts, one being Ratatouille which I will watch with the family Friday night! I also have a date for December 21st, the Peter B. Christmas concert, so don't ask me out k! After a fun day of playing with my awesome friends at work I went home to prepare for my hot date, his name was Mike too, and he took me to dinner and a movie....with even more gifts. This Mike guy spoiled me insanely rotten! I have a new camera now which I will use to take pictures of the weekend festivities! Mike made my day. I even came home to a fun gift bag from my dearest buddy Marianna! I couldn't have been more spoiled, or more blessed. I tried to be tough but Mike witnessed the few tears I shed, feeling so loved and blessed with such awesome friends and love in my life.
There will be more to post after the weekend....you can count on that!

Thankful moments...

Do you ever just have one of those moments that you are just suddenly thankful for EVERYTHING and everyone around you, so much that you get a bit choked up? Well today I had one of those moments. This time of year brings those moments much more frequently. I was leaving for lunch and as I drove down 1300 West I was looking at all the amazing trees and their vibrant colors. The reds, and oranges and yellows really pop out and I love it! In my car I was blasting the Polar Express (yes I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet) and the song Believe was playing and I drove past the temple. It was really just an awesome moment and I wanted to share it with my family and friends. Thank you for being a part of my life and making everyday worth waking up for!

A Spicy Halloween

Ginger Posh and Scary

Every year we dress up for work, this year we went with a theme "Spice Girls 2007"
As you can tell I was Ginger, by the end of the day I was so ready to change back to myself!
I think Mike was happy to see the eye make-up go bye bye but it was still pretty fun being a pop rocker for a day! Next year....maybe I will just be a teddy bear!

A little lemon, a little sugar, a little water...LEMONADE!!

In preparing my YW lesson for this week I came across some great quotes. It's been a blessing for me to teach these young women and after not being able to teach for about a month now with conference and all I am really looking forward to teaching my girls about Self-Mastery and Optimism.

The first quote is given by President Spencer W. Kimball
"The height of a man's success is gauged by his self-mastery; the depth of his failure by his self-abandonment...He who cannot establish a dominion over himself will have no dominion over others. He who masters himself shall be king"

Marvin J. Ashton said:
"We must be more concerned with what we do with what happens to us than what happens to us."

Learn to be Optimistic
1. Count your blessing
2. Learn the power of laughter (this one might be my favorite!)
3. Enjoy beautiful music and literature, they can lift your spirits
4. Look for beauty everywhere you go, in nature, in art, in the faces of loved ones
5. Strive to improve yourself each day
6. Look for the GOOD in everything
7. Understand and live the Gospel "for in right living there can be no remorse of conscience (Bruce R. McConkie)

Pumpkin Heads

Well we had another great FHE this week! Marianna and Trevor joined us for some pumpkin
carving. It got messy but we cleaned up fast and had fun with the camera...of course!
And just so you know, the kissing picture, we didn't know each other was planning the smooch!! Good times! Next week we get to dress up for Halloween...I'm going as Ginger Spice!! Spice Girls are coming back....watch out!

Birthday with the Nana

Mom turned 55 on Sunday! She got a nice new ring from Dad and some new jammies from the kids! Mae loved Nana's card, it sang, "She's a brick....Hooouuuse!" We missed the St. George Marchant's but the rest of the gang gathered together for dinner and desserts.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA!!!

Fun with Mike

This weekend was spent playing games and laughing A LOT with Mike's family. We played charades again, I think it's becoming a family favorite! We are in talks of a karaoke night in which Danny and Lisa said they would for sure join in! (they are a little shy when it comes to acting but not singing I guess!!) Here are a couple of pictures of Mike and I after church. They are the first ones taken of us all dressed up! We had a fun weekend....coming up...Mom's birthday! So next weekend is going to be Marchant Fun!

FHE With Momma Simmons

Monday nights Mike and I get with his brother Jeff and wife Venita for Family Home Evening. This week we roasted hot dogs and mallows in Mike's fire pit then played a fun game of Charades! The night got better when Lynn, Mike and Jeff's mom, joined us for a few rounds! It's a shame we didn't get her acting out her American Ninja but this was 2nd best!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I wear my ribbon for my Grandma (Limb) Monroe and my Aunt Jerry, both are breast cancer survivors!
Who do you wear your pink ribbon for?!
Tip: Walking a mile a day can decrease the risk of breast cancer. Walk for those you love, those you have suffered and survived. Walk for the cure and may God bless you :)

The new kid

I am the new kid in this blog of craziness! What will be next?! Maybe you computer nerds can answer that one for me :) I'm sure I will become addicted to this just as I have with anything else I've gotten into to keep in touch with family and friends. The pictures under My Day Off were taken yesterday (October 3rd 2007) and what a fun day that was. It ended with me getting in a brawl with a pole and I have the marking to prove it. The weather was in our favor luckily so aside from the pole beating we enjoyed ourselves! This weekend the weather should be interesting, sledding anyone!? I am looking forward to General Conference and the naps that usually take place :) We also get to celebrate Jaelyn's birthday at the Simmon's house-hold. If I can only make it thru the rest of today and Friday!!! Whew!!
